Three years ago three of Melbourne's highest profile musicians formed a band to perform in and around the Whitsunday Islands in northern Queensland. The promoter required a band that could play anything from soft classy jazz renditions of well known classics, to funky improvised dance grooves, to flat out top 100 pub pumpers. The gigs ranged from a wedding atop a mountain in the grounds of a multi millionaires mansion, to resort island bars, to the infamous Irish pub Paddys Shennanigans in the heart of Airlie Beach, gateway to the Whitsundays and a variety of high profile corporate functions. The audience reactions everywhere were nothing short of astonishing, and it was no surprise that everyone wanted them back!
"THE INTERNATIONALS" were born!
Who are these people and how is it possible for three musicians to cover such a wide range of styles so effectively? This question is answered by simply looking at the backlog of artists that they have individually and collectively worked with.....,
Tina Arena, Batchelor Girl, Taxi Ride, Lisa Edwards, Russel Morris, The Zep Boys, Glen Shorrok, Skyhooks, The Party Boys, Angry Anderson, Hot house flowers, Phil Emmanuel, Johnny Diesel, Jim Keays, International recording artist Graham Bonnet, Flame trees, David Briggs ( LRB ), Body Motors, John St. Peters, Ross Wilson, The Mega Boys ( including members of the Jimmy Barnes band and Rose Tattoo), State and International symphony orchestras, Dr. Karl (neighbors) and the list goes on and on! Add to this years of local and international touring and recording experience, several albums, sound track work, clinic lectures and a list of worldwide endorsements with musical instrument manafacturers and it becomes clear that "THE INTERNATIONALS" operate at the highest level of professionalism.
As well as playing shows as a trio, "THE INTERNATIONALS" have also ( when required ) expanded their line up to include a variety of guest musicians, vocalists and dancers for special occasions and are experienced in providing musical entertainment for any corporate, private or "unusual" situation.
